New Year Report

As we go into another year it was a disappointing end to the year when we were advised the expected help from the Football Foundation was certainly a lot less than we expected, the club will still try to update the dressing room area but on a lot smaller scale, for this to happen we as a club will need a lot of help from our members so to cut down on the cost, it is you the players that will gain from the upgrading and we look forward to drawing up some plans and hopefully getting on with the job. We as a club often take people for granted but my thanks go to everybody that has helped  prepare the documents for the application to the Football Foundation. On the playing side of our club the players and coaches have all worked hard but when looking for silverware the cup competitions look our best bet, the mini section continue to flourish and the girls section of the mini is certainly growing we must be doing something right. We have missed players this year either players leaving the island injuries and some have decided to take a rest but we still have a strong squad to cover our programme of fixtures. Again I thank all the people who work so tirelessly for our club many are never seen doing the many jobs they do. The xmas draw prove a success and special thanks to Vice President Nigel Hurford for all his hard work .

It just remains for me to wish you all a very happy new year keep enjoying your football either as a spectator, club official or player.

regards

Tony Blondel

Youth 3 match Saints v Vale Rec (08 Jan 2006)

On an extremely bright Sunday morning I witnessed our youth 3 side (12/13 year old) play away at St Martins.  I was totally in awe of our lads trying to play football against a bigger physical side. The Vale Rec boys went on to win 3-0 with some excellent football for players so young, there were 2 exceptional goals in the second half one a thirty yard shot from Connor Batiste who had an outstanding game at right back and late on a great finish from substitute Sam le Huray this followed an own goal in the first half.

It would would be wrong to single out particular players as they played as a team and the result in no way flattered them in fact it could have been even bigger margin.

Coaches Tony Clarkson and Carl le Tissier will have been pleased with this performance and credit must go to them as well as the lads for keeping trying to play football and not just route 1 like other teams at this age level. This is a very young side and will only improve if they carry on working like they did today.

GREAT WEEK FOR VALE REC  (5 Feb 2006)

The Club as enjoyed a successful week with 3 teams winning through to Cup finals.

It started with youth 3 losing to strong bigger Sylvans side 3-1 and with our youth 1 Side winning 4-1 against Rangers our goals were from Jack Byrne Simon le Pelley 2 and a cracking freekick from Mark Ramsden.

On Wednesday our Priaulx sidevisited the track to play Champions elect Bels in semi final of Stranger Cup  and came away victorious 2-0 with Gareth Holden and another cracking goal from Mark Ramsden coming in as substitute to seal our Victory.

We followed this on Thursday with our Jackson Team  beating Saints 3-1 in Mauger Cup semi final with 3 outstanding goals from Mark Rihoy, Mark Romeril and yes another outstanding free kick from |Mark Ramsden.

Our youth 2 side were not to be out done on Saturday in the Normandie cup semi final again beating Saints 5-2 with Jordan Smith and James Bougourd netting 2 a piece and James Mullen scoring with an outstanding free Kick.

Our jackson side  finished the week off today with a 1-0 league win again against Saints with a Mark Rihoy goal.

Looking ahead to this Wednesday at the Corbet Field we have North in the Stranger Final this should be a good final added with extra spice of being a local Derby.
