VALE ENTER SOMERSET
SENIOR CUP COMPETITION
Posted on 10 June 2009
Vale Recreation FC have successfully entered into the Somerset Senior Cup for the 2009-10 season.
Having been the first
Guernsey Club to enter a County Cup competition in 1984, Vale Rec. is delighted
to
have the opportunity of
giving a new generation of first team squad members the opportunity of competing
against players in a senior English County competition. The Club has a proud history of competing in both
the FA Challenge Vase and the
Hampshire Senior Cup, and looks forward to competing
at this level once again.
The first round of the
2009-10 Somerset Senior Cup will take place on Saturday 7th
November, and future
rounds will be played on the
first Saturday of each month. If drawn at home, the Club anticipates playing
at
the Corbet Field early on a Saturday evening, repeating
the successful formula adopted by the Club in
the 1980’s – a formula which
proved very popular with local fans.
The Club wishes to place on
record it’s thanks to the Somerset County FA for their assistance in allowing
the
Club to take part in the competition.
